Biography
Liz Richardson is a Research Fellow in the Institute for Political & Economic Governance (IPEG). Liz joined IPEG in August 2006. Before joining IPEG she was Co-ordinator of LSE Housing, a research unit at the London School of Economics within the Centre for Analysis of Social Exclusion.
Liz has been involved in research since 1994. Her work is primarily qualitative research aimed at understanding policy interventions in and with disadvantaged neighbourhoods and groups. She has worked hands-on with residents, young people and practitioners on neighbourhood, housing and urban design problems, linked to community-focused solutions. She has worked with professionals, residents and policy makers to develop solutions to policy and practice challenges. Her work includes reports on how to tackle issues in low income neighbourhoods for the Housing Corporation, the Social Exclusion Unit (SEU), the Neighbourhood Renewal Unit (NRU), the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM), and the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG). She has taught postgraduate courses in management studies, and housing and urban policy. She is a tutor for Renewal Academy facilitating learning for neighbourhood renewal professionals.
