Biography

Hanhua Liu is a Research Associate at IPEG. Her main focus at IPEG has been on innovative methodologies in the social sciences and quantitative data analysis. The recently completed design experiment project on which she was a research associate was the first application of the design experiment methodology in the UK, which was a drugs policy intervention on an estate in the north of England.

Her main interest is in whether and what interventions can be undertaken to change behaviour, especially agents' behaviour in situations of collective belief formation, action and decision-making.

Hanhua was awarded her first degree in Business Administration by the University of Hertfordshire in 2000. She obtained a PhD in social policy at the University of York in 2005. Her thesis is titled ' Investigating the possibility of changing doctors' prescribing in China: what does an intervention study tell us?'.
