Biography
Sarah Cotterill is a Research Associate at the Institute for Political and Economic Governance (IPEG). Sarah is currently working on a project using experimental methods to explore the impact of interventions designed to improve civic engagement. The project 'Rediscovering the Civic and Achieving Better Outcomes in Public Policy' is being done jointly with Southampton University and is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), Communities and Local Government (CLG) and the North West Improvement Network (NWIN).
Sarah's main research interests are in public sector partnerships, e-government, citizen participation and civic engagement. Sarah has recently completed her PhD at the University of Leeds . Her PhD research examined how English local authorities and their partners work together to implement electronic government. She has an MSc in Social Research Methods and Statistics and a BA in Politics and Modern History, both from the University of Manchester.
She previously worked for many years in the fields of housing, health and community regeneration for local authorities, a Health Action Zone and a New Deal for Communities regeneration partnership.
