Project summary
One of the tasks of the Knowledge Creation programme is to accumulate and assimilate existing relevant international and national research, learning and knowledge. This review of the evidence focuses on the issue of choice in public services. This review seeks to aid local public sector agencies via a review of the possibilities and challenges involved in moving towards choice in public services. The findings will cover four main sections:
- what do we mean by 'choice'?
- what reforms have been introduced and what have their impacts been?
- challenges and limitations in expanding choice in public services
- a strategic way forward.
The review draws on relevant Government material, and leading policy-relevant academic material.
