27/28 February 2007 - Chancellors Conference Centre

The conference is designed to expose and bring together recent work on the measurement and determinants of productivity growth. Recent estimation has emphasized the role of agglomeration effects in raising productivity, often using regional data. Incorporating knowledge of those effects in regional policy evaluation might lead to a change in regional policy interventions. But this is not the only issue this conference will cover.

The second day of the conference, February 28th, represents a joint initiative of H.M.Treasury and the Manchester Regional Economics Centre (MREC).
